Troubleshooting
SMS Messages Not Being Processed
If SMS messages arrive but no transactions appear in the app, check the following:
- • Check SMS Analyzer: Go to Settings → SMS Analyzer. Status should say "Downloaded".
- • Check Automation: Settings → Automation → "SMS Automation" should be ON.
- • Check Permissions: iOS Settings → Spender → Grant SMS permissions.
- • Supported Messages: The analyzer only processes transactional SMS (debits, credits, payments). OTPs are ignored.
Incorrect Account Balances
- • Starting Balance: Go to Settings → Accounts and ensure you've set a starting balance.
- • Duplicates: Check for duplicate transactions and swipe left to delete.
Download Fails
If the SMS Analyzer download fails, ensure you have at least 600MB free space and a stable WiFi connection. Keep the app open during download.
Setup Guide
SMS Automation
Open Spender and go to Settings → SMS Analyzer.
Tap "Download SMS Analyzer" and wait for completion.
Go to Settings → Automation and tap "Setup Shortcut".
Follow the iOS prompts to create the automation.
Toggle "SMS Automation" to ON.
File Import
We support CSV, QIF, OFX, and all Excel formats (.xlsx, .xls). The app can automatically map the relevant columns but you can also select the exact columns manually

Is my data safe?
Absolutely. All processing happens on your device. Your SMS and transaction data never leave your iPhone.
Do I need the SMS Analyzer?
Only if you want SMS automation. The app works perfectly with manual entry and file imports without it.
How do I backup?
You can use Settings → Backup to enable Local Backup or iCloud for automatic sync across devices.
